Awards

In recognition of two very important and special people, The Butterflies From Jodie Charitable Foundation celebrates people in our Community who make a significant difference.

Jeanne Torigian Neville

community award

Jeanne Torigian

Jeanne was never the same after losing her daughter, Jodie, but in order to move forward and try to heal, her mantra became an insightful and powerful quote she read:

“In Giving – We Receive, In Receiving – We Heal.”

She wanted to help those in need, and in turn, while helping others, Butterflies helped her to heal.  She vowed to make a difference, and that she did!

Jeanne lived her life with others always in mind:  showing love for those around her, compassion for those in need and strength for those who needed a helping hand.  Her service to the local community will always embody the legacy she left with all of us.  As the co-founder of Butterflies from Jodie, we are proud that an award in her name will forever recognize local citizens that go above and beyond to make a difference.

Keith Morris

first responder award

Keith Morris

Keith and Jodie, who were first cousins, were very similar, giving more of themselves than taking from others.  They both had a zest for life that was electric and they lit up a room when they entered.  Keith truly lived each day of his 30 years on earth – his motto from the movie Braveheart:

“Every man dies, not every man truly lives.”

Keith was larger than life and made a difference in so many lives.  Keith was a fireman, who centered his life on simple, yet profound principles: Loyalty, Strength, Courage, Sacrifice, and most importantly Selflessness.  If you needed help, he’d be the FIRST to respond. We are honored to present this award to an individual who possesses these same characteristics.
